The “Cupcake” goodies that I wrote about a week ago for Google’s Android are now unofficially officially making their way to all G1 users via a push update over-the-air. Engadget received word from HTC that they are in fact going to support Cupcake, however it will be up to Google and T-Mobile to get the update to end users. This announcement is not an “official” announcement mind you, hence the unofficial official wording. This is just one prime example of the high points of Android. The users building upon a great framework and improving the OS adding actual features that people want, then being accepted by the manufactures is a model EVEY OS/manufacturer/mobile phone software developer should use. There’s no word yet on when the official update will surface.
