Samsung has won the crown of being the first manufacturer to release a camcorder with 64GB of flash storage built in (HMX-H106).  The HMX-105 and 104 have 32/16GB flash storage respectively.  Leading the tail end of their line up is the HMX-h100 which eschews the built in flash storage in favor of an SD/SDHC card slot.  With flash hard drives still relatively new, you will still end up paying a premium for them, while not as much as a year ago, the premium is still there. Click through to read more as well as see a spec sheet comparing all 4 of the new camcorders.

Even though there are differences in storage, all 4 camcorders record in full HD and use H.264 compression.  A built in flash aides in the capture of pictures up to 4.7 Megapixels while Schneider lens takes care of the video side with a 37mm wide-angle focal length.  The camcorders also come with 2.7″ screens so you can see what you’re doing without having to jam your face into some eyepiece.  One last feature to mention is a “time lapse mode” that you can use to record in HD.  Just a few more months of waiting for flash storage drives to come down in price and I’ll jump.  Until then I’m just a window shopper.
