Road sign hackery…(How to)

In crawling the internet I came across a very interesting (though probably illegal) how-to on how to hack the road signs and make them display whatever you want to say.  Cool…Until you get arrested.  So, continue on at your own risk to learn the quick and easy way to spread your message to the world.

Hacking a road sign is actually  much easier than you think.  Usually electronics are covered with a small lock, however they are usually unlocked.  Upon opening you’ll find the little device to enter text.

In order to make it easy to read and follow I will list the instructions in a numbered format below:

*If a password prompt pops up, skip to the next section*

1. Scroll down menu system to *Instant Text*
2. Type whatever you want to display and press “Enter”
3. Select “Run without save”, or if you’re adventurous, add a few more pages/messages by selecting “Add Page”.

*If a password prompt pops up start here*

1. First, try the default password: “DOTS”
2. If that doesn’t work hold Control + Shift and type “DIPY” (Resets the password to “DOTS”
3. Scroll down menu system to *Instant Text*
4. Type whatever you want to display and press “Enter”
5. Select “Run without save”, or if you’re adventurous, add a few more pages/messages by selecting “Add Page”.
