Crackberry users all know how unreliable the stock Blackberry browser is.  It’s terribly slow and renders horribly.  Until now Bolt was announced, the only other good solution was Opera Mini.  A fantastic browser to say the least.  Bolt is aiming to claim the “best” title.  The new public beta chimes in at .86 and comes with a whole host of features.  Gone are the early days of Bolt with miniscule test pools of company insiders and crashing servers.  Bolt has come quite a long way since then.   Hop on through to for the full rundown.

  • Fast, secure, desktop-style web browsing no matter what kind of handset you’re on, high-end or low-end
  • *streaming Flash support* (wooo hooo)
  • High standards compliance due to use of WebKit engine
  • Feed support:  XML, ATOM and RDF
  • Javascript and AJAX support
  • easy navigation with split-screen AND full-screen support
  • keyboard shortcuts for easier navigation
  • 128-bit Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) encryption for secure access to web pages
  • spyware and malware protection by means of server filtering
  • Certification error notification
  • easily traversed history and favorites sections
  • history and cookie clearing

As you can see the 0.86 public beta brings a ton to the table making it a very compelling reason to dump the Blackberry browser.  Now if only Mobile Firefox would come to the BB party…
