Ok put this at the top of your “that’s freakin’ cool” list. In the many hours of the day that you’re glued to your smartphone, have you ever thought, “You know, I wish I had this other OS running?” If so, you have a new reason to get excited. With the ever increasing power and efficiency of mobiles, it was only a matter of time before virtualization made its way to the mobile world. Well, that day has now come. VMWare has debuted their MVP Hypervisor mobile OS virtualization software that will let you install and run multiple OS’s just like on a desktop! Very cool. Shown above on a Nokia 800 internet tablet clearly shows Windows CE and Android running along side each other. Now what will this do to increase your efficency or help your day to day work on your mobile? I can’t think of any earthshattering reason other than how cool it would be to have let’s say the Blackberry OS running along side or “within” Android. Gizmodo has more on the subject if you’re interested. Sadly, like I mentioned before, I don’t know if any manufacturers will find this a “must have” feature to license and install on their handsets. However there’s always hope.
