Seems as if things in the AT&T/Quickfire world aren’t looking so good. AT&T is reportedly pulling all AT&T Quickfire’s from shelves as fast is humanly possibly. Now being the naturally geeked person that you are, you’re probably asking “Why”. I’m here to report that I can’t help you with that question as I myself don’t know why they are being pulled….only that they are. While AT&T is being tight lipped about the whole issue, more than likely it is a quality issue which just so happens is the very rumor that is currently running around. So if you purchased a Quickfire have you noticed any shady events regarding your beloved little handset? Is it broken yet?

MWC has come and gone and many Android faithful are still feeling neglected and unloved. MWC was hyped up to be the first big event for Android. However, while a few Android handsets were shown, it was far from the “wow” effect that many had been predicting. There just wasn’t any “omg I gotta have it” moments. Continuing the talk of disappointment, Motorola hasn’t quite revived from the lull since their popular Razr handset went out of style and has been desperately trying to recapture the market it once dominated. What better way to get back into the minds of the technologically geeked consumer base than with a touchscreen Android phone. Android junkies take a seat. The above picture is supposedly Moto’s grand entrance into the high end touchscreen market with the Android (Rumor) toting beast. Apple, Nokia, RIM are all on the radar of Moto’s GPhone. Some notable features of this (hopefully saving grace) are: 5 megapixel camera by Kodak with Xenon flash, and HUGE touchscreen display the only things we currently know. Again, the Android add-on is still a rumor as the button layout doesn’t exactly scream Android..read: no home/back buttons. Other OS’s that could popup would be WinMo 6.5 and even if you want to dream a little, Windows Mobile 7. Of course, an in house OS is never out of the question. Please Moto, for the sake of all of us and your ailing business, just put Android on there already.

When Apple announced the iPhone way back in ’07, many were shocked that it was tied to AT&T. For many, AT&T is the all mighty satan of wireless carriers. Many who haven’t switched and gotten an iPhone have simply done it because of their extreme distaste for Big Blue. It’s been reported many times that Verizon was the original target for Apple but Verizon declined after Apple apparently was too pushy and demanding regarding sales revenue. Fast forward two years and you have many people still refusing to make the jump to AT&T, catching Apple slightly off guard. Would you make the switch…

Apps are definitely a big part of the iPhone. Some could even argue that apps are the iPhone. Even though managing apps and moving them around is fairly intuitive, it isn’t perfect. However, Sean over at Gizmodo provided a video showing a simple and effortless app management system in iTunes. It will allow you to move whole pages of apps, adjust app placement, and add “blank” spots to keep spots open, among others all on your computer. Come inside and take a look at the no nonsense idea in action.
