It’s no secret that the App Store wars are nearing full swing in a multi manufacturer sense as you app stores already launched or in the process of from Apple, Android, Microsoft, Nokia, and RIM. RIM’s much hyped Blackberry App World has the Blackberry user base in a frenzy as they have for quite a while now wanted a more unified app system. After Apple’s amazing success with their app store everyone changed course from hardware being number 1 to software and app stores. However, unlike Apple, RIM has several “in-house” competitors breathing down their neck from the likes of Crackberry.com and Mobihand. What do these other Blackberry app stores have to offer? Come inside for a shmorgusboard of pictures and words that will fill completely fill your head.

WinMo users…this announcement is just for you. If you are a themer and customizer and like to mix things up from time to time, gone are the old days of having to jump through fifty different hoops just to change your stupid wallpaper and a few icons in Windows Mobile OS’s of yore as Microsoft has announced that it is commited to making Windows Mobile more personal. Helping with that quest will be several prominent designers and design houses including the Design Museum London and the Council of Fashion Designers of America. The lucky first designer to be showcased by Microsoft on Windows Mobile 6.5 will be Isaac Mizrahi, fashion designer and television personality. Don’t worry he isn’t the only guy who signed up, more will come around in the next few months ensuring you have an ample selection to choose from.

I won’t lie, I love to put various themes on all of my electronics if possible. I simply like change. Changing themes on Firefox can sometimes be chore as you have to restart the browser. Granted, you can “save and quit” and have all of your tabs reopen at restart but if you have dozens of tabs open, all of those tabs reloading at once can cause the less apt computer to have a stroke. That’s where Personas come in. They aren’t as deeply integrated as normal themes and are integrated as extensions instead. There are tons of personas to choose from as Mozilla has just released a ton of new ones. As an eye-candy lover, the more the better. However I also like speed and know that the more eye-candy you throw in, the slower your browser will perform. For those with older machines where themes and the other 40 plug-ins/extensions they have installed are starting to slow their browsing experience down should give personas a try. You don’t have anything to lose and they look pretty cool!

I can understand bottom line sales tactics and keeping your company afloat, but if you can’t drop the price on product that is already a couple of years old, you need to get rid of some of or all of your management because someone isn’t doing their job. The latest disappointment comes to you by way of Sony and their still expensive with no price drop in sight PS3. Instead, Sony is choosing to drop the price on their able yet drossly outdated PS2 down to a pocket change price of $99. The PS2 was a gaming beast in its day. That day has come and gone…many days ago. Today Microsoft’s Xbos 360 and Nintendo’s Wii are wiping the floor with Sony and their PS3. Sony jas repeatedly claimed a more “quality over quantity” type of stance in regards to their lower sales numbers compared to the other two game console manufacturers. Sadly the next gen gamers who were waiting for a little love from Sony before plunkering down more of their cash will have to wait a while longer. How long? Who knows. Why don’t you fire up the ‘ol Atari and reminisce about the simpler times in life…when a rectangle and a square could keep you busy for hours.

Android and the Android Marketplace have been hailed as the “most open” app store. Developers and consumers have free rein. Besdies, Android is based off of Linux meaning everything should be up to the user base anyway…right? Wrong? According to a peeved Android developer who goes by Seth, an app he contributed towards was banned from the Marketplace for violating the Developer Distribution Agreement, more specifically a T-Mobile clause that bans tethering. His app isn’t the only one though. Apparently it is happening to other tethering apps. Why? T-Mob had something to say about it (inside). Is this a sign of darker things to come from the Android/T-Mobile alliance?

I’ve tried to ignore all of the posts floating around the web of snuggies and a dozen other knock offs however this one while actually serving a good purpose, has an extremely “alien vs. predator” look to it. I completely understand good parent skills and keeping your child warm and what not, but these things are downright freaky looking. (freaky picture on left) The picture shows exactly what I’m talking about to a “T”. Poor kid…trying to break free. Probably thinking “Mom get me the F out of here…I look like an idiot!” Yikes. If this downright weird look is for you, pony up the $80 required to own one and your set!

Show the upper class folk that you are a different breed of human, one who is classy and wild. Show them that you can rock out while wearing a suit. “How on earth do you accomplish this monumental task?” you ask. Simple: Guitar Hero cuff links. You can see from the picture above that these aren’t cheapo cuff links. The GH cuff links are available from Cuff Links and feature a meticulously detailed guitar for each wrist. Even the colors on the fret board were transposed over to these mini relics. If you are that rocker in silent type of person and have $50 burning a hole in your pocket (I’ve got a few pockets to spare for ya…) head on over to Cuff Links and pick up a pair of these social stunners.
