Microsoft loves students…91% discount on Office Ultimate 2007

If you are a student in need of basic and more advnaced office programs in order to get your school work done, Microsoft would like to hook you up this fine and glories Friday. Seems that even though they are a multi-billion dollar company, they can still sympathize with the toll the economoy and a college work/class schedule takes on the your learners paychecks. Because of this, Microsoft has decided to offer a 91% discount on Office Ultimate 2007 for students. That’s right, you can get every Office title for the low price of $59.95…down from the astronomically high $680! This is an awesome gesture by Microsoft, however, I would like to also take this time and remind the many college students out there of campus bookstores. If you’re college has one, check to see what software titles they have. They often have many popular and hit ticket titles such as Office, as well as operating systems on sale for the cheap. I know through my college I could download Office Ultimate ’07 for free and I picked up a copy of Windows XP for $10. Granted your milage may and probably will vary from college to college. It is worth noting however that my downloads from school are technically only “mine” until I graduate at which point I’m required to remove any trace of the discounted software I obtained from school. The $59 discount straight from Microsoft however is good for life. So take that info and decide accordingly. So if you have a valid .edu email address stop on by Microsoft’s online shop and download your practically stollen software today!
*Also of note, Silicon Alley Insider is reporting that they have been tipped off that Microsoft’s “Ultimate Steal” is not new at all. Interesting to say the least. I can’t imagine this not making news earlier if in fact it isn’t new. Regardless, I’ll keep you updated.
