Crackberry junkies who choose Verizon as their carrier of choice won’t have much longer to wait for some “Boldish” action as quoted by “analysts familiar with the plan”.  So, AT&T users, would you drop AT&T’s craptactic network for a little more Verizon reliability?  Or do you just loooove WiFi too much?  Will this source even prove to be true???  Let us know below.

Verizon losing their lead in JD Power call quality.

Big Red users…Verizon while still the American giant of years past isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, however their call quality is.  According to the latest JD Power reports, Verizon gained an entire 1% in the “calls dropped” category.  Hardly a big loss, but something that shows maybe the tide is changing.  In a surprising turn of events, AT&T and Sprint have actually had the amount of complaints regarding call quality and connection problems drop.  I guess they haven’t tested AT&T here in Indiana.  All small talk aside, Verizon still leads overall in JD Power’s list so the other carriers still have some work that needs to be done.  Take a minute to tell us what region you live in, carrier, and so far how you like/dislike them below.

Pwn2Own takes no mercy…IE, Firefox, and Safari all pwned.

hacked

If you thought your latest browser from Apple, Mozilla, or Microsoft was built like a WWII concrete bunker, able to withstand the perils of the web, think again.  On day 1 of Pwn2Own, a contest in which hackers are rewarded for hacking and exploiting various browsers in order to better develop the next iteration, Safari, Firefox, and IE 8 all were exploited.  Day 1!  Google’s Chrome was the only browser that managed to come out with its head up.  The contest still has until Friday so more is to come.  The lucky hacker who racked up a nice purse of $15k and a brand spankin’ new Sony VAIO laptop on day 1 was “Nils” (above) who managed to exploit Internet Explorer 8 while running on Windows 7…(so much for IE 8 and Windows 7′s security), crack Safari, and then claim Firefox later that day as well.  Another successful hacker that went be the name of Charlie Miller managed to have his way with an Apple Macbook with a simple malicious link.  Yikes!  Even though the contest shows how truly vulnerable we are, hopefully the respective companies fix these problems quickly!

In other news, Microsofts newest and *safest browser yet*, IE 8 is supposed to come out of beta today.  Stay tuned!

Google Chrome now available in 2.0 flavor

The little browser that everyone had high hopes for and hyped up has done just “ok” if usage numbers are taken into account.  However, for a techie like me, Chrome has proven to be a fast reliable browser that I use daily.  Good news for all Chrome users out there as Chrome has been given a new badge called “2.0 beta”.  In actuallity the change is that big that it needs a completely new version number but I digress.  What you will notice immediately upon browsing is the noticeably faster browsing speeds…25-35% faster to be exact.  On a side note…Chromium for Linux gets a tad easier to use as you can now just use “get-apt” instead of the lengthy process of before.  And Mac users are still waiting….  So if you are a Chrome junkie nows the time to get your fix like never before.
