*Updated April 1st…apparently I spelled “Conficker” CoRnficker”…ugh…just caught it*
If you can remember all the way back into the depths of your mind to a time called Y2K, you will know how much a computer generated apocalyptic event can cause mass pandemonium. Y2K while costing many individuals large sums of money as they stockpiled food and supplied for a digital end times awoke to live as normal on January 1st 2000 to much relief, (and some anger as they squandered so much money for nothing). It seems as if the world is in for another digital apocalypse as a new bread of internet threat has been quickly and viciously making its way around the interent. If you haven’t heard, there is a pretty nasty worm floating around the interwebs that goes by the name of “Conficker” or downadup. At first you may ask yourself what is a Conficker or how did they get that name? Come inside and get better acquainted with the new “digital doomsday”.

While the Blackberry is the hands down winner of the corporate and workhorse world, the consumer oriented side and more “design” side of things aren’t really the Blackberries strongest points. Even on the newest models such as the Bold and Storm, many of the apps while extremely functional, look as if they were written and developed 8-10 years ago. BerryWeather thankfully is bucking this trend and manages to come off as a great weather app that looks like it belongs on an iPhone. Come inside for screenshots and the full feature rundown!

Is $20+ too much to spend on a movie? Do you even find yourself questioning buying that $5 golden oldie that is sitting at the bottom of a Best Buy bargin bin? If you a movie monster, own a G1, and don’t mind doing a little pirating, things have just turned in your favor. Introducing BarTor, (formerly ScanTorrent), a torrent app for downloading movies will make the quest for free movies insanely easy. This revolutionary app allows you to scan a movie barcode which then sends the movie information such as title to your computer (which you’ve previously set up to run uTorrent or Vuze) and by the time you get home you’ll have that movie or movies that you scanned while out and about ready to watch. Granted this is highly illegal…but insanely cool. Features of BarTor include:
- Load By URL or Load By File
- KTorrent PHP and HTML Interfaces
- Support for uTorrent and Vuse
- Sort by By Seeds and Leechers (Default) or by Publish Date
- Ability to choose maximum number of Torrent Search results (25 *Default*, 50, 100, 250)
- Failed Submissions retried automatically upon application open and exit
- Purchase opportunities with Barcode Lookup/Long Click result to open Browser
Why can’t legitimate comapnies put something together like this? This is why people pirate. The record labels and movie corps continue to try and resist the digital trend and are years behind and sadly always will be. Leave it to the consumer to truly innovate the market while the big corps take all of the credit. If you have a G1 I suggest you spend the $2.99 on BarTor before it gets taken down. (We all know the MPAA will be all over this in a heartbeat).

All good things in life grow old. The young and beautiful become aged and withered. Even the almighty Xbox 360 and all of its gaming prowess is starting to turn the page on the latter half of its life as it is already 4 years old…the beginning of old in the technological world. Blizzard’s Rob Pardo has revealed that his company has participated in talks with Microsoft on their next gen replacement for the Xbox 360. All that is currently known is that the new Xbox will have better input devices as to allow better real time strategy games. That’s all for now. No price. No pictures. No specs. Sorry folks. At least it’s something.

Another day…another spectacular Blackberry theme. This time it comes by way of Kissberry. The theme, Se7en (not to be confused with the simliarly named Se7en theme from Hedone design) is a port of the the Windows 7 style and design straight to the Blackberry ending up in a nice mash up of style and usability. For the Bold version of the theme there is a 5-icon circle of icons at the bottom and center of the home screen. Highlights of Se7en include:
- Pop up windows for Calendar, phone list, and media right on the homescreen
- Today area for 8 items
- OTA and ZIP downloads
- Available for 4.6 OS only
If the Windows look is for you (I’m even digging it), set aside $6.99 and go to either link below to purchase:

In what is probably the funniest thing I’ve seen all day, (I have a sick, juvinille sense of humor…so what), the lego crash test dummy t-shirt is sure to garner a few laughs from you friends. If you have any sort of humor in your bones, I suggest you get this T-Shirt NOW (pick me up one while you at it…I’d very much appreciate it) which can be had for the low price of $20. Which if you ask me is a small price to pay for one of the finer things in life…laughter. I’d very much appreciate it.

In what can be seen as the ultimate mobile movie goers dream, the Carl Zeiss Cinemizer Plus glasess will immediately differentiate you from the rest of the crowd upon putting them on. Besides being the first video glasses that will work with both the iPhone and iPhone 3G, they will surely be the cause of people giving you new names such as nerdy, geeky, dumb, etc, but you’ll be laughing all the way home as while those mere mortals area walking aimless looking at boring ‘ol life thorugh their two eyes, while you my friend will be watching the latest blockbuster wherever it is you may be. The Cinemizers equate to a 46″ TV sitting a paltry 6ft from your precious ocular cavities meaning not only are you a mobile movie powerhouse, but a BIG mobile movie powerhouse. These aren’t the dorky movie goggles of the early 1980′s. These are prime 2009 material. If mobile movies on a grander scale are precisely the slice of life that you are looking for, get out the 50,000 pennies you have lurking beneath your couch cushions (have to save some for tax) and get ready to wait…until May. I know that is so far away. Have patience young grasshopper. Have patience.
