*Update* Apparently there are a few people at AT&T who do care….  According to Engadget, AT&T has backtracked on their new anti-video ToS and gone back to an earlier one that isn’t so anti-everything.  It is still unknown however if any of the on again off again restrictions will return.

The crackdown on internet traffic by way of usage caps and overage charges on “unlimited” plans is really getting stupid.  The latest kick in the pants of the consumer comes by none other then our favorite Death Star look alike…AT&T.  So what have they done now?  Well, seems as if they only want you to use their wireless network for looking at words and the occasional picture.  Don’t go over board with the pictures though, that 5GB on your limited “unlimited” plan comes up quick.  Here are the claimed “illegal” actions on AT&T’s delicate network:

downloading movies using P2P file sharing services, customer initiated redirection of television or other video or audio signals via any technology from a fixed location to a mobile device, web broadcasting, and… any applications that tether the device… to Personal Computers or other equipment

So I hope you like reading becasue that’s about all you can do with your overpriced and unlimited AT&T wireless internet plan.  Now are they actively  monitoring the network in order to start a massive kick off and blacklist of apps and offenders?  I surely hope not, but I wouldn’t put it past them.  Sound off inside.  Are you getting sick and tired of paying more and more for increasingly less service and freedoms with your service?
