When the original Blackberry Storm was leaked, the Crackberry nation was in a flurry. The consumer minded Berry users were praising RIM for finally bringing them something to shut up those darn iPhone users. Almost immediately, the Storm began being criticized for its lack of WiFi. However, being a Verizon exclusive, the lack of WiFi was hardly a new occurance. Though many argued that a such a device being designed and soon afterward marketed so strongly towards the consumer market was being gimped by its lack of WiFi. Time has passed and that complaint is still a very valid and often voiced complaint that many people just can’t get over. But, what if you could have a second chance at life? What if you could have your Verizon branded Blackberry Storm and WiFi?
If you were dying for months in anticipation for the Blackberry Storm only to be let down by its lack of WiFi, you may now have a reason to live again. Rumors are flying around the web claiming that RIM is already on the fast track (and I mean fast) to making current Storm owners feel like yesterdays news by releasing an updated Storm as soon as September! The biggest difference between the first Storm and Part II is the inclusion of the much coveted (and often criticized for the lack thereof) WiFi radio. If you a math guru and get excited over numbers and statistics, you’ll notice if RIM does in fact follow this schedule, it is only 10 months between a product and product update. A very fast pace indeed, even by Apple standards.
So Berry world, do you think RIM would bring out an updated Storm so soon…and with WiFi if it is in fact a Verizon replacement (as we all know Verizon hates WiFi) and not a GSM variant? Do you think the rumored September release will hold fast if it does in fact materialize into a real product and product launch date? Let your nerd run wild in the little box below!

I would think that Verizon would offer some kind of deal for those who have purchased the storm – afterall it is not even a year since it’s initial launch.

I would be very suprised of the wifi storm came out.
But of it does, I know alot of storm users who are gonna be pissed when they can’t get one (unless they pay full retail or Verizon does a special upgrade price for moving to storm 1.2
