Monster Cable hates America, loves frivolous lawsuits

lawsuit

It shouldn’t be a secret that I’m not the biggest fan of Monster Cable products. Why?  Well besides the obvious price gouging, their sales and marketing tactics are downright deceiving and anti-consumer. For example theres the ‘ol Monster Cable to “Competitor HDMI Composite cable comparison, or the infamous mini-Golf Course lawsuit that show Monsters true colors and class.  Forget the fact that not even a brainless idiot would confuse a mini-golf course and a grossly over priced cable company…but I digress.  Does Monster they should have a patent on the word “Monster”?

Granted, I will give Monster credit that they did eventually come to terms with reality and dropped the mini-golf lawsuit.  However it appears as if their legal team has fallen victim to stupidity *once again* as they are gearing up for another morale boosting lawsuit.  This time targeting a Florida based performance automotive supplier, Monster Transmission, who has found themselves directly in Monster’s crosshairs.  What is Monster’s movtivation – Money.  Plain and simple.  Just because someone else happened to stumble upon the same word in the english language as your company, does not mean you can sue them.  What better way to increase your image to the public than to (as Engadget puts it) “run an American company into the ground during a recession”.  I hope to god that Monster Transmission wins as well as gets a big business increase from all of the publicity.

You stay classy Monster.
