For the many Twitter users out there who spend countless hours per day tweeting away, hoping, wishing, and some even praying that they could tweet all day and get payed now have a chance to let their 140 character geek shine. Twitterers and Pizza Hut faithful who are looking for an internship this summer now have a chance to be part of a pretty sweet deal. Pizza Hut is looking for an intern to Twitter about company events and attend company sponsored events. The requirements are pretty basic and straightforward. Get the full scoop right inside.
Said applicants for the internship must be fluent in Twitter grammar and language, (ie: know how to slice and dice a paragraph down into a 140 character statement), as well as be willing to move down to Dallas, Texas for the summer. Obviously, being a current college student is also required to be eligible for a summer full of tweets. Pay will be “competitive with other Twitterers” according to Bob Kraut, the vice president for marketing communications at Pizza Hut.
The “Twitterns” as called by Pizza Hut will also be responsible for monitoring Twitter for any negative tweets against Pizza Hut and then notifying the higher ups to take “appropriate action”. If the negative tweeters are in fact Pizza Hut employees, they will be dealt with accordingly. However I don’t see what much if anything they could do to a non-employee. If they do in fact try to silence negative tweeters and tweets about Pizza Hut, it could backfire as it would be a pretty bold attempt to block free speech. We’ll see how this one plays out.
