“Google Tax” coming to a country near you?

Think about how many times you yourself hit the search button on Google per day – 10, 20, 50, 100 or more times.  Now multiply that across several billion users and what do you have?  According to the UK Government, a lot of unclaimed money.  How much money?  Eh, you know, a couple hundred billion dollars – between-the-seat-cushion-change.  (I need that couch)  A series of proposals centering from the UK would tax searches performed on Google in order to fun news programs aired on TV.  Now taking money from a thriving business, tax it to high heaven, and give it to a dying and uninnovative region of the market just makes plenty of sense doesn’t it.  It is worth noting that these talks and proposals are in very early stages so while it is an extremely stupid idea to even begin to fathom, it is one that we hopefully won’t see anytime soon if ever.  Though once a greedy and technologically incompetent politician gets his foot in the door, they usually push until they or their party gets through.  So, are you open to the idea of a Google Tax?  *Unanimous NO!*
