While the majority of the consumer market place is biased towards Intel for the CPU needs, there are other processor manufacturers out there. Long known for their love of speed and more recently their new love for cores, Intel has constantly pushed the envelope in the quest for supreme domination. However, that domination while usually pretty strong and way out in front of the competition, doesn’t stand a chance to Fujitsu’s latest top-o-the-line speed demon that goes by the godly name of “Venus”. How much heat does Fujitsu bring to the technological table?

The bragging rights of Venus come by way of a 128 billion calculations per second ceiling which equates to a speed that is roughly two and a half times faster than even Intels most brisk offerings. In order to keep heat output and energy guzzling to a minimum, the processing beast is “tamed” using a 45-nanometer process all while packing 8 cores onto the die making for an extremely efficient and dense piece of silicon. Further adding insult to injury (in regards to Intel’s chips) is that Venus uses a a mere third of the energy that Intels chips do to accomplish the very same specs. That is truly a display of Fujitsu’s innovation and tech savy desgin team. In case you were wondering, this new first place finish by Fujitsu marks the first time in over a decade that a Japanese company has been able to claim “world’s fastest”. As far as more normal civillian uses are concerned, expect to see these popping up in a desktop near you “within several years”. Bring on the heat.
