When you think of working at home, you often thing of a desk in some desolate room that while still inside your humble abode, feels as if you are in some remote cubicle miles away from comfort and happiness. A contest that goes by the name of: “Emotionalize Your Light Competition” aims to completely overhaul the image and thoughts we typically get when thinking of office working and deskspace. One particular entry, The LED Enhanced Workstation (shown above) is designed by Andres4. The creator of the “Perfekt Desk” looks to shake up that stereotypical image that “stately” desks in are all work and no substance. So what is so great about this desk? For starters, it has a nifty loop of LED lights encircling the perimeter of the desk accompanied by a group of overhead lights that hang low and bring the “other worldly” effect down to your level. To make the desk even more personal, the LED’s can be controlled via switches giving the the ability to customize the lights into an array of eye pleasing and futuristic thought inspiring colors. The final piece of excitement according to the designer, Andres4, is the disk located in the center of the desk which he claims is a “must have for every Star Trek fan”. What the heck does that mean? Who knows. Maybe it’s a built in teleporter. That would definitely be a unique twist now wouldn’t it?!
