USB Mass storage mode not working on your Berry/SD card? [How-To]

One of the great parts of the Blackberry experience is the ability to save files to the SD card for use in sending to another recipient or simply by using your Berry as a big radio wave emitting flash drive. However, while process of entering mass storage mode is extremely easy, occasionally things go awry. Have you ever connected, enabling mass storage mode, only to find that your SD card inside your berry doesn’t show up or get recognized? The solution and ensuing happiness are right inside.

Thanks to Michael Alan Jones, the process in which to remedy the missing card in mass storage mode is now clearly explained. The process is really pretty simple and usually the result of a corrupted Windows driver:

1. Disconnect Berry from PC if not already disconnected
2. Navigate to: to Start->Settings->Control Panel->Administrative Tools->Computer Management->Device Manager…..Look for disk dirves
3. Connect Berry. Watch Device manager for your device to pop up with a drive letter.
4. Right-click on RIM BlackBerry SD USB Device and select “Uninstall Driver”.
5. Allow computer to reboot. **Do not disconnect Blackberry until screen goes black and Windows actually shuts down**
6. Reconnect Berry after computer fully restarts back to the homescreen
7. After reconnecting you should see a “New Device found” message, meaning Windows is reinstalling the driver you previously deleted. Enjoy!
