Are you the type of geek that is reserved, a closet geek will you, one that doesn’t let the general public witness his extreme bouts of geekiness? Or, are you a flaming geek who proudly wears his hobbies on his sleeve. If you fit the latter, a T-Shirt from Think Geek is something you may want to start wearing. While your feelings and hobbies won’t be “on your sleeve”, they get an even better position – front and center right on your chest for everyone to see. The T-Qualizer Shirt has an actual functioning 8-band equalizer that lights up according to sounds and music around the wearer. All the T-Qualizer takes is 4-AAA’s and a whole lot of geekiness. The battery back resides in a small pouch inside of the shirt. Don’t go throwin’ this shirt in the wash as your sense of style and geekdom will require a special handwashing. $39.99 and it’s yours.
Come on in for a few pics of the shirt live and in action.

Of course, something of this size and magnitude has the creators, Perth Lego, vying for a world record. You think they made it? So who all of a sudden gets the urge to reenact King Kong scenes…..? Another pick inside.

Old and lame Chuck Norris jokes aside, the Alienware M17X, (which was revealed 4 days early by the way), has a spec sheet that will make any gamer anywhere drool, shake, and seize up in pure and utter shock. While Microsoft’s Bing search engine still isn’t fully live, I had some time to think about what Bing really meant. Just look at it. It doesn’t look or even sound like it originated from the English language. So where did it come from? According to the Chinese language, “bing” means “disease”. Awesome! Isn’t it amusing when companies pick these obscure names they hope will stand out and stick in your mind but don’t do any/very little background research on the name in question? I for one enjoy occurrences such as these. I wonder how Redmond will counter such the message or stigma that could now possibly be attached to bing…don’t you?

Whether you love or hate them, we all know Apple doesn’t necessarily care about the consumer as much as they do keeping their products locked down and making money. One of the pro’s of that marketing scheme is that everything within their brand works together and very well. The con’s are obvious, you’re limited to Apple products or services more often than not. Palm is banking their lives on the success of the Pre. For if it fails or doesn’t sell like planned, Palm employees could be looking for unemployment. Moving back to Apple, one of the greatest examples of unity in the gadget world is none other than the widely popular and well known iPod/iPhone/iTunes combo. Syncing these devices with iTunes is easy, fast, efficient, and pleases the largest majority of users. Palm, naturally on the edge of death, wants to find some sort of ease and style in their lives. So how is Palm going to enter that higher, more “upscale” market where everything just works?
