While HDMI 1.4 has had several features known about for some time now, nothing was set in stone, or so to speak. However, HDMI Licensing has finally taken the wraps off of their connector baby. While there is a lot to love, there is also a lot to loathe. It seems the world just can’t exist with one cable any longer. Oh yes, you know what that means. Stupidity ensues right inside…

There are times in life, dark times, when all we need is just a tiny bit of light. Darkness, it seems is a hard thing to get rid of by mere mortal means. Equally challenging is the little energy units (batteries) that electronics and gadgets require. Thankfully, science and technology have stepped in to make our lives easier once again. The Wind Up Keychain Light while not overly bright, will help you out in some of lifes more spontaneous instances where light (and batteries) are in short supply. A few cranks is all it takes to get enough light to find the keyhole in the door, find that ear ring you dropped under the table, or find that last M&M you dropped on between the seats. (guilty). Costing a grand total of roughly $6.40US dollars means this little gadget would be a great stocking stuffer/cheap gift.

Palm Pre developers love twitter – 400 strong

  • May 28, 2009 8:02 am

yikes
Twitter is again making headlines. This time for the insane amount of Pre app store applications from developers who are asking to create Twitter apps for the Pre. While Twitter is a good thing, too much of a good thing is never good. In the case of the Pre and the increasing number of potential Twitter apps, according to Palm developer community manager Chuq Von Rospach, the list of Twitter applications is now past 400 now. With so many Twitter apps could one hypothesize that the Twitter/Pre environment will be receiving a heavily watered down market with too much choice, leaving many awesome specimens lost in a sea of tweets never to be found. Don’t you think 400 different Twitter apps is a bit over the top?

Go green…Kill a tree…starve a panda – Bamboo keyboard/mouse

Keyboards are a computer accessory that while the physical layout has undergone consistent changes more or less throughout the years, the actual composition of them has not – plain ‘ol plastic. Mice on the other hand have enjoyed a somewhat slightly more modern evolution, moving from mouse balls, to lasers, and in the future who knows what. But, what is someone who is more earth friendly to do? Simple. Buy a Micro Innovation bamboo keyboard and mouse. Said keyboard and mouse will rid the earth of having to deal with consuming yet another plastic keyboard when thrown away. Thereby saving countless lives from contaminated ground water as the plastic breaks down into the soil poisoning water supplies around the world. The USB keyboard features the standard 104 key layout with an equally standard scroll wheel mouse. PC, Mac, and Linux users can all get in on the green revolution as no one is left out. However, while this keyboard may appear eco friendly in that it’s made from a renewable resource, trees are getting cut at ever increasing rates. Not to mention, Bamboo is found in a far smaller amount of locations than typical trees which are used for a larger majority of tree based products. Still, if saving trees and killing pandas is how you roll…roll on over to Amazon and unleash your wallet to the tune of $39.08.
