Microsoft’s E3 keynote kicked off today with many new and exciting announcements. Obviously since E3 is a gaming trade show, the Xbox 360, Xbox Live, Live Marketplace, and even the Zune were the talk of the town – a sort of “Macworld” for Microsoft junkies where gaming geeks from all walks of life convene to take in, look at, touch, and prod the latest and greatest on the gaming frontier. So what did Microsoft bring to E3 to wow customers? The full list is inside (sans pictures and straight to the point).

Microsoft kicked off the keynote with games, games, and more games. Titles mentioned include:

  • Modern Warfare 2
  • Final Fantasy XIII
  • Shadow Complex
  • Joyride
  • Crackdown 2
  • Left 4 Dead 2
  • Splinter Cell: Conviction
  • Forza 3
  • Halo: Reach
  • Alan Wake
  • Metal Gear Solid

Moving on to online content the biggest news comes by way of added music streaming by way of a partnership with Last.FM providing free music streaming to all Xbox Live Gold members. Saweet!!! Netflix support also is making it’s way to Xbox live allowing you to control your que and account all within Live. Continuing Live news is the arrival of 1080p to all movies available on Live and upping the serviced countries from 8 to 18! Finally, rounding out Live announcements comes by way of social networking integration with the likes of Facebook and Twitter.  Whoops, just kidding, the final final bit of juicy info for Xbox Live users centers around the arrival of “On-Demand” downloadable retail games.  30 games will be available to choose from at the start of the service with one awesome feature that I’m sure everyone and their grandmother have been clamoring for: the death of Xbox live points.  That’s right, the retail games will be able to be purchased by credit card meaning no more wasted plastic for stupid points gift cards or frustration and pains in your ass.

So how was that for an E3 keynote?!
