While Monster often gets a lot of flack for price gouging and more or less screwing people out of money, SanDisk would like to remind you that they too have plenty of ridiculous sales tactics, marketing schemes, and downright anti-consumer policies. The latest affront to all things holy? SanDisk has announced the arrival of their “Netbook Specific” SDHC cards. So what is the difference between these and normal SDHC cards? Nothin’. Notta. Zilch. Well, ok, theres one thing. Paying the premium for these “special” SDHC cards will make your poorer, yet still the same as everyone else. As far as outrageous pricing goes, the 8GB flavor rings up at $39.99 while the 16GB downright drop kicks your wallet, spilling $79.99 all over the place. Are they worth it to you? I hope to god they lose money by the truck load on these “specialized” lines. By the way, what’s with all of these tiered options cropping up? First monster cables, then SanDisk cards, and now even HDMI 1.4? WTF! The customer happiness outlook is not getting any rosier.
