Because you don’t already have enough problems losing things – Pill (sized) MP3 Player

While I totally love the miniaturization race that makes up what we call technology, sometimes it can be taken a tad too far, or outpaces other areas of the tech market that haven’t evolved quite as quickly. Case in point: The Pill MP3 Player. This tiny gadget is as of right now still a concept, though plans to put it into production later this year are forthcoming. Seriously, what would you do with something so small? You would lose it. I can’t imaging you could hold much more than 20-30 minutes worth of music or get any more than an hour or so of runtime as there is barely enough room for the headphone jack let alone a battery and memory. Granted, as battery and storage technologies evolve, something this small could definitely be possible. But the practicality of it right now just seems useless. I can see it now. Someone leaves the MP3 player on the counter, it somehow gets mixed in with some pills….and you know where it goes from there. Isn’t their a time when the miniaturization process produces something that is too small? Why not bypass this uselessly small MP3 player and instead find a way to embed them somewhere in our body with mind control? Now that would be freaking awesome! So which do you prefer, the Pill MP3 Player or the embedded, mind controlled MP3 player?
