Nokia, the Finnish mobile phone giant as it is more commonly known over seas, hasn’t enjoyed the same success as they have across the pond. Here in the U.S., we are oddballs in terms of global cellular technology in that CDMA is a minority globally, yet here in the states it is a very close battle between GSM and CDMA. Ever since Nokia and Qualcom’s little dispute ended earlier this year, any rumblings of a Nokia/CDMA phone have been almost non-existent. However, that luck could soon be changing for the better. The new rush to the top comes from the new CEO, Olli-Pekka Kallasvuo. He wants to help the company enjoy greater success in the States and claims that we could see a new CDMA, Nokia smartphone as soon as mid 2010! Now, Nokia hopefulls who are stuck on CDMA euphoria can now crank the highness dial up a notch as their world will soon be getting rocked. One thing is for sure, with competitors such as Android, iPhone’s, BlackBerrys, they will certainly have their work cut out for them. Certainly you must be excited….no?
