Warner music wants you to hate them

The music and copyright industry is so backwards, antiquated, and completley blind that a major fallout from the general popular is all but certain in the nearer future. While stories of stupid rulings on lawsuits centering around music copyrights is nothing new, a new action taken by Warner Music shows just how stupid these people that run these “organizations” really are. Time and time again we see that these mobs have absolutely no idea what copyright actually entitles them to as they abuse copyright law and power. So what exactly did Wonder Warner do this time?

YouTube is the home of the self made video star. From dancing dogs to people singing lead in songs that they shouldn’t even sing backup in have become a staple of the popular user generated video service. Within the last several years, music videos and videos using copyrighted music have become more prevalent. Naturally, the completely incompetent old suits at the various music labels had a slight problem with this. Thankfully YouTube made deals with the labels as to keep copyrighted music available on YouTube as opposed to removing all videos that featured it — pretty much 3/4 of YouTube. However, Warner Music was left out as more than likely they wanted too much money that was grossly over reaching.

Many of you may have seen the Keyboard Cat-Hall & Oates video on YouTube. It features a cat hilariously dressed up and playing a keyboard embedded into an old 80′s Hall & Oats music video, “You Make My Dreams”. The movie was pretty funny and the cat did a pretty good job. Obviously the general public thought so to as in only a couple months the video had surpassed 375,000 views. The owner of Hall & Oats content, Warner Music Group, the only label YouTube failed to reach a deal with, ordered YouTube to cut out the music completely ruining the whole Keyboard Cat experience. Again, this highlights how copyright law has been twisted and distorted into something that it is not.
