If you thought your were clever or technologically relevant with your modded to the teeth home PC, step aside and let a true geek/modder step forward. A Finnish resident must have been bored several days in a row and decided to push the limits of miniaturization and ingenuity. Just how did he accomplish this feet? Simple, he took an old Mobira Talkman cell phone kit and stuffed a complete Windows Media Center PC into it. More info, pics, and a movie right inside.
The almost magical transformation from full size desktop to super small CB radio sized is enough of a feat by itself. But this Finnish techie doesn’t stop there. He also threw in a fit a USB hub, WiFi card, sound card, and even a 128×128 OLED screen crammed into the handset. In case you’re wondering, this computer inside of a phone will even go the extra mile and make VoIP calls — now that’s pretty sweet!
This little project supposedly took roughly 40 hours from start to finish meaning anyone with enough stimulants, patience, and determination can have their own fun in one weekend.
As you can see from the screenshot of the extended display, the resolution and quality of the picture won’t be that great, though, I don’t think this is going to be used as his main PC. More of a proof of concept, I won the bet kind of deal. Still, it’s mighty cool none the less. Ready to build your own?
