“Silent Night” skin now compatible with iTunes 9!

I’ll admit, Apple does a pretty decent job designing a world class UI. Their latest work in Snow Leopard while not radically different from Leopard in any way, is still somehow able to wow me. Though, their taste may not be your taste. Even still, some simply like to change stuff up every once in a while. Especially those who work on their computers day in and day out, starring a the same background, the same theme, the same icons can just get old. Lately I’ve been into darker themes. Way back not so long ago in iTunes 8, a particular theme called “Silent Night” created by DeviantArt memeber, “-DaHLiA-7″ was by far my favorite iTunes skin, so much so I long for someone to make a full OS X version. Hey, I’ll take what I can get.
Since Snow Leopard and iTunes 9 are babies in the grand scheme of things, the theme/skin scene is still kind of bare compared to older OS’s and versions of software. So it was much to my surprise that I stumbled upon the same Silent Night theme I loved so much now ported to iTunes 9. Hell ya! As far as installing this theme, a simple switcheroo with a couple iTunes files and you’re golden. It’s not hard at all really. As always, backup the original files so you can go back later if you so choose.
Words really can’t describe it. It’s something you just have to look at. Some may discredit the Genius window on the right that sticks out, whether this was intentional or out of the designers hands is beyond me though I’m leaning towards the latter. Not to worry, a simple mouse click tucks the ugly duckling away however leaving you with unfettered, dark goodness. That minor quibble aside, Silent Night is one of the slickest iTunes Skins available. Whether dark themes are already you’re thing or you’re simply looking for something new, open ye eyes and partake…
