Orange competes for title of “Worst iPhone Carrier” — “Unlimited” iPhone data plan capped at 750GB MB/month!

orange-logoI’m not going to sugar coat this subject at all. When will carriers such as Orange stop fucking customers over? Case in point, just look at their BS excuse for an iPhone agreement…

Not to be used for other activities (eg using your handset as a modem, non-Orange internet based streaming services, voice or video over the internet, instant messaging, peer to peer file sharing, non-Orange internet based video). Should such use be detected notice may be given and Network protection controls applied to all services which Orange does not believe constitutes mobile browsing.”

I’d advise anyone even thinking of giving orange your money to not do so. Falsely marketing an unlimited plans that is unlimited is crap. If you’re going to cap it and restrict certain features, then market it as such — a 750MB data plan — not unlimited. Further adding insult to injury as well as more reasons to stay far form this epic failure is that most of the iPhone’s features that make the iPhone what it is are strictly forbidden. Such simple and mundane things as IM, any msuic streaming apps like Slacker, Last.fm, Spotify, video streaming of any kind, and generally any other useful apps one could think of using are officially “illegal” according to Orange’s ToS.

Why even bother releasing an iPhone if your going to outlaw 95% of what the phone is designed and marketed to do? To steal money from you, plain and simple. If they can play off of your emotions by sucking you in with a nice shiny toy, they’ve got you hooked. Do yourself a favor, call up Orange Exec’s/carpet bomb HQ with strong words of disapproval. So how many potential and current Orange users are feeling throughly angered by Orange?

If Orange really wants to cash in on the iPhone craze, false advertising and trying to trick and corner customers is generally not the best policy…

got the email from orange a couple of days back after i had preregistered on orange for the iphone over a month ago and i opened it with great excitedment and logged on to the orange iphone site only to then realise the costs.

18 month contract for 3gs 16GB on the £34.36 tarrif £184.50; 24 month contract (lets be honest the phone is good but will 1 hand set last 2 years of daily usage ? well not according to the review i have read as the genral optinion on blogs on google is they last about 16months if used to its capacity each day) for 3gs 16gb on the £34.36 tarrif £87.00 i thought wow thats a bit steap.

then i click the header i didnt see 1st time saying exciting customers upgrades so i thing ah cool thats more like it (i have been with orange i think over 10 years now) orange are looking after me …. i phone up the call centre give all my details and await the lovely lady to come back with my upgrade deal only to be told the same info and costs as if i had just called up out of the blue.

when i ask about the upgrrading when it dies (after 16months it looks) am told you cant get a free one unless you take out the £12 per month insurance or take the 24 month contract where you can upgrade after 21 months.

to be honest am shocked, i know the phones are hot and you guys will be busy with them but come on orange you need to look after your long term customers as i think offering your VERY loyal customers the same deals as if we were new customers is shocking business practise, having also checked what the deals are for excisting customers upgrading with other handsets you provide i see i would get almost all free for being a upgrading customer so why oh why are you not following the same train of action with the iphone ?

so what am asking is come orange give us loyal customer a break, after all this is the 1st time in nearly 3 years you have had a phone that is the market leader and saught after like this, and we have had to suffer plastic crappy out of date before they hit the high street phones for far too long to be treated like this.

    yours

    i REALLY want a ipone
