Lamp tosses out USB power in favor of RJ11

50+ USB powered novelty devices and you’re starting to get tired huh? It’s ok, you can only amass so much junk before the clutter starts to annoy. This fascination with USB-ifying everything will eventually pass. If you really want to stay on the cutting edge, move on past USB to RJ11. Wait, telephone wire? That’s old school. In one sense it is old, but using it to power a device is rather uncommon. Take for instance the RJ11 lamp — a lamp that is powered by RJ11 ports. Why would you need such a device? Novelty of course. I’m sure there’s also some times in life where a standard outlet is just too far out of reach. Instead of an extension cord or power strip, the next best thing would of course be the phone line. Although, with so many people ditching landlines and instead adopting cellular only households, the phone lines go unused while future homes may not even include such ports. A far stretch for sure as landline phones may not be used by current residents, but the golden oldies who move in afterwards may think otherwise.

Regardless, if you need something new and unique to brag about because you’re just that nerdy, give the RJ11 Lamp a shot. At less than $5, it’s almost worth trying it out don’t you say?
