Classic gaming fans were no doubt saddened when Apple removed the Commodore 64 app because of some elusive code that allowed end users to enter into BASIC interpreter. Noticing their screw up, the App Store yanked the app. That was a couple months ago when the developers first received word that their app was going to be pulled. They promptly removed the offending code and resubmitted. So why did it take so long? Well, after the last coy little attempt to circumnavigate the App Store policies (I’m not hating, I’d do it too..) Apple was probably a tad bit more thorough this time around.

Dates and pondering aside, the new version isn’t just a dumbed down version of the old. Three new games: International Basketball, International Baseball, and International Tennis have found there was into the app. If sports aren’t your thing, there’s plenty of other games to be had as well — Dragons Den, Le Mans, Arctic Shipwreck, Jack Attack and Jupiter Lander. Games aren’t the only addition however as the devs also managed to squeeze even more performance out of the app to the tune of 30%! Those not into classic gaming may not see the point of loading up such basic digital things on a technologically advanced device such as the iPhone/Touch. But for the rest of us, the $4.99 asking price is more than reasonable.
