LG and Sprint to showcase new device at CES. Lotus 2 or Prada III to drop? [Update]

What was your original impression of the LG Lotus? For those who don’t remember, it was a goofy shaped “tweener” phone with a more square shaped design. Not exactly stylish in my opinion. Though many in the mobile world are no doubt in love. For you love birds I have some *almost* good news. LG and Sprint are taking the stage together at CES this year for a grand launch party centering around some new mobile device.

Generally when I see the words “LG” and “Fashion” I think of the Prada line of phones. However, to date, not a single Prada device has made it stateside or as a CDMA device no less, so a US, CDMA Prada all in one fell swoop is unlikely. Though a pleasant surprise would be nice wouldn’t it?

Instead, a small blurb the original press release for this grand unveiling said:

Fans of the fashion runways will appreciate the couture style of LG Lotus, exclusive to Sprint.

Common sense would indicate a Lotus 2. But again, it’s all heresy and rumor until something a bit more official drops. Speculate away and leave it in the box below…

**Update: It’s kind of unclear in my original post above, but a Prada III (for European users) is also highly possible given the focus on “fashion”. However, as we already went over, a US + CDMA model isn’t too likely which is why a US announcement will probably feature the Lotus 2. But we could all be pleasantly surprised…
