Puppy Tweets gives your dog a voice, albeit random voice.

Leaving the house each and every morning and having to look at the sad eyes of your furry four legged canine is quite the heartbreaking experience. Since dogs don’t have the greatest grasp on time, the 8+ hour absence is somewhat dampened. What if you could help yourself get through those long daily separations with a little humor and random information that at least lets you know fido is still breathing? Would you use it? Of course you would. For the tech/social crowd, no dog accessory will be able to top “Puppy Tweets”.

Puppy Tweets is a simple attachment dongle that piggy backs on your dog’s collar and tweets out information triggered by your dog’s movements. As you can guess, since dogs don’t have opposable thumbs, a good grasp on reasoning, or any real friends, the tweets aren’t exactly specific to what you dog is doing nor is there any real crowd to broadcast any information to. Because of all of that, every time a tweet is sent, you’ll see one out of five hundred possible pre-written tweets sent out for you and a few other nerds to see. If you want to receive continuous tweets throughout the day, you’ll want to configure your house so that fido doesn’t stray too far from the computer — remember, it is a rather lowly wireless signal that’s transmitted from the dongle.

For $29.99, it’s a pretty affordable splurge if you’re feeling down in the dumps and are susceptible to the shopping pick-me-up. Would I do it? Eh, it’s cool looking at it now, but after a couple days of seeing the constant updates, — or at the very least, going through all five hundred expressions — I can see the novelty wearing off. Think your dogs’ daily routine needs some geeky intervention via Puppy Tweets? Above all else, you can always boast that your dog is on Twitter. Eh?
