Last year, AR (augmented reality) was a huge splash in the tech world. The ability to lay over multiple layers of information on top of a real world video feed opened up countless doors for all kinds of services and applications. In the case of iKat (developed with Zentium’s D-Track software), the software overlays a cat on top of the video feed. It may seem pretty basic, but the number crunching required to actually pull it off and have it look decent is pretty involved. This use of AR is but one of many ways the technology can be used.
