Untethered, all encompassing iDevice “Spirit” jailbreak coming soon. (This Friday?)

Jailbreakers and liberators unite! Untethered jailbreaking for any and all iDevices is coming very soon by way of the Spirit Jailbreak. Like the title says, the jailbreak will be untethered meaning there’ll be no need to babysit your USB cord/computer whilst cracking open Apple’s shackled beauty.

Just in case you missed the “all encompassing” part, the Spirit Jailbreak will jailbreak iPhone 2G/3G/3GS, iPad WiFi-only/WiFi + 3G, and iPod Touch 1G/2G/3G. Even better, new and old bootroms alike are easily cracked. So none of this downgrading BS just to get your precious NES ROMs back. Whew.

As far as full on unlocking goes, wait ’til 4.0. No jailbreaker dev worth their weight in salt is going to waste giving Apple the code to reverse engineer for such a minor release like 3.1.3. There’s bigger fish in the ocean as they say…

I would like to believe it… But there’s been other claims so I’ll just have to wait and see if someone backs up the talk lol

I suppose they could all be lying, or wrong, but my faith tends to lie in crowd sourcing. That and the fact that no one has ever been able to prove their claims. If there was an easy fix for 3.1.3 3GS without shsh on sauriks, I feel like a lot more people would know about it, and at least one or two would take the time to shoot a quick video of them performing the operation on a stock phone from the store. Just to prove everyone wrong.

  • Jim

Call me a “noob” if you must , but what is that connection on the bottom right of the iphone? I know that my earphone socket is on the top of my ihone. Please someone explain this.
