iPhone battery woes? MiLi Power Skin aims to save the day.

  • April 21, 2010 11:55 am

If you’re an iPhone user, you’ve no doubt run into a frantically flashing battery meter at least once or twice. With all the features (and hardware) packed under the iPhone 3G/S’s hood, it certainly takes it’s toll. Countless add-on batteries and battery cases have flooded the market since the inception of the iPhone. Some are better than others. How does the latest contender, the MiLi Power Skin fair?

Apple doesn’t like teaching kids how to program or furthering the general progress of technology. [App Store Reject]

  • April 21, 2010 10:14 am

Time and time again we have seen Apple employ utter incompetence, double standards, and plain stupidity when it comes to accept/reject decisions within their approval process. They’ve received their fair share of criticism and at times, warranted a few pats on the back along the way. Sadly, incompetence still runs wild as the recent rejection (and eventually approved) of Pulitzer prize winner Mark Fiore’s comic satire app showed us. But more disturbing than simple incompetence and stupidity is the effect that Apple’s problems have on the technological market as a whole.

*Warning: Nerd alert!*

Building and maintaining a custom PC is a work that is rewarding and depressing all at the same time. Depending on how long it took you to build your PC, the “top end” components may already be outdated and 1-2 generations behind of current hardware. Such is the battle we fight…

Fancy building stuff with little colored plastic blocks? At some point in time, most of you would have answered yes. Even now into your adult years, some of you still do. *sheepishly raises hand* Regardless if your LEGO usage is described by past or present, there’s no denying the versatility and creativity that these little blocks can inspire.

BlackBerry OS 6.0 pictures leaked!

  • April 20, 2010 12:20 pm

BlackBerry fanatics, today is quite a special day. OS 5.0 may have been somewhat of a letdown, lacking in new features that the “5.0″ moniker would otherwise seem to suggest. But 6.0 has been promised to take the BlackBerry OS deeper into the mainstream consumer markets. Of course, it’s all talk until RIM actually steps up and produces. On that note, judging by the 6.0 screenshots BGR scored from one of his sources, I’d say that at least considering the UI department, RIM is finally starting to get it.

Bluetooth 4.0 spec finally…finalized.

  • April 20, 2010 10:06 am

Maybe it’s just me, but I haven’t seen a whole lot of people pushing Bluetooth 3.0 — anywhere. That doesn’t matter I s’pose as the Bluetooth Special Interest Group has officially taken the wraps off of the Bluetooth 4.0 spec. Besides the blinding speed that end users now come to expect with each new technological upgrade, lower power consumption is the biggest bullet point worth talking about with BT 4.0. Naturally, mobile devices will benefit most from this new generation of Bluetooth. According to the SIG, we could start seeing Bluetooth 4.0 rolling out to consumers in actual devices by the 2nd quarter of 2010.

Bluetooth 4.0 sounds great and all, but with the advances WiFi is making in versatility and lowering power consumption, how much longer is Bluetooth really going to grasp our minds and attention?
