I have plenty of my own issues with the App Store and Apple’s increasingly growing iron grip surrounding the iPhone platform. But have I emailed the CEO, Steve Jobs himself and attempted to verbally attack him? No. Though some would say my often critical remarks as of late are more or less the same thing. However you feel, there’s no denying that Apple has catapulted to the forefront of countless minds for both noble and shady practices alike.
Ryan Tate is one blogger in the pool of many that takes it upon himself to hit up Steve Jobs and tell him what he thinks. The ensuing conversation is rather humorous though ultimately ends up sounding exactly one would expect to come from Steve — firmly standing his ground on the actions Apple has taken so far…
Looking through the above conversation, we see Steve taking the same stance and rehashing the same thing we’ve heard from Apple over the last few weeks concerning any outside criticism regarding the App Store, iPhone platform, and polices overall. Ryan Tate starts off somewhat well but then takes a nose dive near the end when he starts rambling on and tossing a few “fucks” in here or there, turning his tactful conversation more into a bar rant.
Looking at Steve’s responses, it’s no secret that he is 100% certain that he and Apple are correct in their direction regardless of outside perceptions. I sit somewhere in the middle. To a degree I see Apple’s stance as a good thing. Though at the same time I have a strong distaste for the tightening restrictions that keep popping up around the iPhone platform, ultimately limiting my enjoyment of said product.
I’ve gone on way more than is needed about this conversation, so let’s hear what you’ve got to say. Go on, let your voice be heard.
