Blurry pictures may be the de facto standard for new device leaks, but thankfully the BlackBerry 9800 above has been leaked many times over. But this time we actually have a few juicy nuggets to share with you. First off, OS 6.0 is the OS powering the 9800 — not like there was much contention with that anyway.
Something that will tickle your fancy however is news that RIM’s new Webkit browser is onboard and working quite well. Based on the images provided by the Cellular Guru, 100/100 on the Acid 3 test deems to me that everything is in order. Moving on, the last bit of information worth sharing today revolves around the display. You may be surprised to learn that it doesn’t feature SurePress, though still is an actual touchscreen display. It’s a solid, non-moving piece of glass. I say good riddance to the push-button style display that’s adorned Storm 1 and 2 as it was never that good anyway.
Let the glass stay in place while registering touch input and give the bulk of the work to the keyboard. That’s what BlackBerries are known for.
