Kno unveils tablet/e-reader with dual 1440 x 900 IPS displays and Tegra 2!

What would you say is “too big” for a tablet? If you think the iPad is pushing boundaries, then advert your eyes from the hot mess that the Kno dual-screened tablet is. Each of those IPS screens above you is 14.1″ in size with resolutions of 1440 x 900 — per screen.

Think it’ll break your back? Think again. At 5.5lbs, if you have trouble carrying this, your worthless.

The screens are but one small part. I’m sure you’d all like to know what powers this Linux e-reading beast. Continue on oh curious reader…

Deciphering all those 1′s and 0′s comes by way of Nvidia’s Tegra 2 chip, with storage space topping the scales at 16GB.

But the most intriguing (and questionable) bullet point is that of battery life — a claimed 6-8 hours of battery life. Yeah, how they get that with those two big ass monitors is beyond me. We’ve already ruled out a jumbo battery back seeing as how the device is only 5.5lbs. Then again, maybe Kno cleaned house and got all the extra fluff out from inside the casing.

The sticker: “under $1,000″. Yeah, for an e-reader? Now we’re going to have to think about it.

They can get 6 – 8 hours because there are two batteries. Each dedicated to a display.

okay this has GOT to be one of the most myopic reviews that ive read so far – you do not mention that this device replaces ALL your books.

Now, would you rather carry around piles of books or this here beauty? dude you can even highlight and stuff :D

when innovative and (actually) useful tech comes along, i reckon it ought to be appreciated. plus this is still a prototype so dont get ure nickers in a twist…
