Famed iPhone emulator dev “ZodTTD” bringing the goods to Android. Encore: N64 emulator to follow soon after.

While ROMS are totally illegal and I’ve never ever used one…I can see the reason such functionality would be wanted on your Android devices. Famed iPhone hacker, ZodTTD, ended up giving in to a 2,000+ strong petition asking him to bring his talents to the Android platform. Thankfully he obliged.

The PSX emulator he developed will require some beefy hardware (Nexus, overclocked Droid, EVO 4G, etc…) in order to keep everything nice and smooth. Something that kind of caught me off guard is that ZodTTD is saying that his PSX emulator runs faster on the Nexus One than iPhone. Obviously, the 1GHz processor probably has something to do with that. +1 pt. for Android. Interested users will want to make sure they have at least Android 2.1 as nothing lower will be supported. Sorry everyone else.

In other news, once ZodTTD is happy with the PSX emulator, he’s mentioned that he’ll start work on an N64 emulator as well. Can you say “hell yeah”! Hello GoldenEye 64 on my Droid…
