Of all the accessories one could buy for a camera, a robust or spare battery is perhaps the most important. What good are all the other knick knacks if you can’t even take a simple picture? That’s why all photographers planning to be out and about shooting for days on end need one of these — a solar powered camera strap.
The only negative about the solar camera strap is the release date. Speaking of which, the solar powered camera strap is only a concept at this stage. So don’t hold your breath in regards to picking this up anytime soon. Though I’m sure someone out there in invention land has to have a working prototype with plans to manufacture. Anyone?
Can a new Android phone by Samsung really be called “Epic”? The fact that it has 4G is a good start. Kicking the phone to the side to reveal a rather spacious 5-row sliding keyboard doesn’t hurt either. But are those two features alone enough to conquer them all?
Depends on what you look for in a phone. Though, the reported 1GHz “Hummingbird” processor, 1GB RAM/512 ROM, 802.11b/g/n w/ wifi hotspot, 5mp camera, and 720p video recording ability certainly add some weight. Tying it all together is Android 2.1 with Samsung’s love it or hate it TouchWiz 3.0 skin.
Other tidbits like price and release date have been grouped under the all too common “Soon”, so keep checkin’ back. But if you’re feeling the urge to stay up to the minute with the Epic 4G, sign up to receive more information as it becomes available. You know how it is, join the crowd.
Any Sprint users waiting with abated breath?
Fancy the sweet styling of the Droid X’s slightly tweaked UI but aren’t too keen on giving up your good ‘ol slide-out keyboard? Thanks to Droid Forum member, “Fabolous”, now you can. I thought the white iPhone 4′s were going through some manufacturing woes… But SkyNews managed to snap two iPhone 4′s in white casings while out and about during launch day festivities in London. The only bummer is that SkyNews didn’t realize Apple had previously stated white iPhone 4′s weren’t going to be available for several weeks after the initial launch due to manufacturing issues, and in turn didn’t question the two white iPhone 4 owners how they obtained said units.
Seems someone in London messed up or is instead very lucky. Check out the video over at SkyNews.
Not much as been said of the supposed “Project Emerald” being worked on behind T-Mobile closed doors as of late, but that doesn’t mean it’s another victim of tech projects that never come to fruition. Very much the opposite in fact. According to some tips dropped by “Scott Brown” to AndroidGuys, Project Emerald is going to make T-Mobile the Android carrier this holiday season.
The handset: HTC Vision. The rumored specs: 800MHz dual-core processor, 4.3-inch display (which is claimed to be using a display technology like we’ve never seen before), and Android 3.0 (Gingerbread). Wow! If the HTC Vision comes to market in some form with the specs just highlighted, I will switch back to Tmo in a heartbeat. Dual-core speed is a big drool inducer. This so called “new” display technology is intriguing as well, though I won’t get too worked up initially. (Remember Samsung hyping up their Super AMOLED displays and how they turned out to be just “OK”?)
If you’re thinking of jumping to another carrier or pickin’ up another device, you may want to hold out just a little longer.
I never thought I’d utter the words, “Microsoft’s IEx is faster than Chrome, Opera, and on par with Firefox. Such things just don’t sound right in a world where we constantly mock Microsoft for their sub standard browser offering. But the IE9 preview is changing those past misconceptions.
When thrown head to head with Firefox 3.7 and latest version of Chrome and Opera, IE9 actually topped all but Firefox in pure HTML5 speed. That’s pretty huge considering the web is racing towards HTML5 as the next go-to standard of standards.
Of course, you have to keep in mind the history of each browser as well. Microsoft IE9 may eventually top everyone when it’s officially released, but look at how often Microsoft actually upgrades their browsers. While Chrome, Opera, and Firefox can be measured in months between upgrades, Microsoft can stretch the time between major upgrades by years.
They may be the fastest now, but that will all change come 4-5 months down the line when everyone else in the browser party picks up and moves on, leaving IE9 to wallow in self pity and irrelevance once again.
With that, hop inside and check out a video showing the four browsers dukin’ it out…
It’s no secret that the iPhone 4 is having a little problem when it comes to hand position and signal quality. To be fair however, any phone regardless of make will have some signal attenuation when held in certain positions. It’s unavoidable. But in my experience using over 12 different devices over the course of 4 years, I’ve never had attenuation so bad as going from 5 bars all the way down to 1 or 0. Perhaps the biggest slap in the face to the millions of people who just shelled out $200-$300 however is Apple’s new official response as spear headed by the man, Steve Jobs himself:
Just hold it a different way…
Um, excuse me? “Hold it a different way? For a $200+ phone, this is ridiculous.
