A company of their word they are. The quite popular minority group, the Pirate Party is certainly garnering their fair share of media attention these days. First it was the sole existence of the party itself. Then it was promises they made stating that an ISP of their own was a future goal. And whataya know, here we are now discussing the formation of Pirate ISP.
Being a legitimate political power with an ISP that helps fund your party is awesome on many levels. Let us not forgot that the overall goal is for consumers and privacy. That of which is the utmost important issue surrounding the creation of Pirate ISP — giving a big middle finger to big brother.
For now, service is limited to 100 beta testers as the party wants to ensure optimum service. Though as time goes on, expect PirateISP to branch out and expand ts user base. Let it be known that their goals as a dominant ISP are rather meager — a minuscule 5% market share. But as the popular mindset goes — quality over quantity — I’d take Pirate ISP any day.
In closing, the Pirate Party has mentioned many times that if/when they had their own ISP, they would host the Pirate Bay. Looks like those plans are finally coming together.
How’s the weather in Sweden these days….?
