While we may have been disappointed with recent attempts to overclock a Droid X and only slightly intrigued by a decent G2 showing, this latest tale of Android rooting/overclocking fun is quite the face melter — literally.

Two dudes — Matt4542 and Joe from Team DeFuse have successfully pushed one Droid X and one Droid 2 up to 2.0GHz. That’s freakin’ insane! Even more insane is that these guys think it’s possible to make this overclock “completely stable”. That will be mighty impressive for sure.

Of course, with a 3.7″ and 4.3″ display already relinquishing long run times to mere dreams, screaming along at 2.0GHz certainly can’t help either. Hop on past for a quick video showing the madness in action…
