There’s no doubt that 2011 is going to be a big year for tablets. Between Apple’s iPad 2 as well as no less than a dozen different Android tablets, the RIM PlayBook, and Palm’s trifecta of consumer-oriented tablets, consumers will have quite the time narrowing down exactly what it is they want. And while we’ve seen several different upcoming tablets leaked in some form or another, this latest leaked video showing Acer’s upcoming 10″ Nvidia Tegra 2-powered

Two days ago, the FCC approved by a narrow 3-2 vote to enact the controversial set of rules and guidelines called “net neutrality”. The aim is to make the internet a fairer place, free from anti-competitive actions and policies pushed by big companies. The road from concept to “law” has been long and hard, with some arguing the end result is a far cry from what was originally intended. To some degree, critics of the recently approved net neutrality are right — there are barely any stipulations for wireless internet. As for the wired type, their are three main things: Transparency, No blocking, and No unreasonable discrimination.
With that said, the FCC released the full set of Net Neutrality text in its entirety (PDF) tonight so that we the people can find out just how “fair” the groundbreaking set of guidelines really are. If you’ve got a few minutes to spare, give it a look and let us know what you think.

A couple of days back we gave you an early look at “the” steering wheel accessory for Gran Turismo 5, the Thrustmaster T500 RS. It was a beast for sure.
Today, it’s finally official. Scheduled for release in late December/early January, the Thrustmaster T500 RS is by far the most detailed and realistic steering wheel video game accessory made yet. And with that attention to detail comes the biggest hurdle to adopting this piece of gadgetry into your collection — the $599 price tag. And that is without the optional 6-speed gear shifter. Speaking of which, the gear shifter won’t be available until sometime later in 2011. The reason isn’t immediately known.
Sky-high price tag withstanding, if there’s even a remote chance you can afford this and you live and breath racing sims, there really isn’t any question what to do. This is the wheel to get. Full press release and gallery after the jump…

On Apple’s iOS platform, there are no less than half a dozen to a dozen mobile apps dedicated solely to multi-account IM apps (that are worth using). Some are better than others. My personal favorite has been Beejive. It looks good, performs well, and as cliche as it sounds — it just works. But maybe you don’t want or need support for as many accounts as Beejive supports and you don’t like the built-in chat functionality in the Facebook app. Beejive has a solution.
Earlier in December, Beejive released a Facebook-only version of their popular multi-account app. And after a solid week of playing around with it I must say I like it and could actually use it full time. I’ve got many different IM accounts but really only use two — Facebook and Google Talk. Google Talk is taken care of by Verbs (review here). And now my Facebook needs can be handled with Beejive’s Facebook app.
If you’re even remotely curious about this app, get on the bandwagon quick as the app is at an introductory price of $0.99. Check it out in the App Store now.

Looks like HTC wants to poke and prod our hearts for the next week and a half (and counting) until CES starts on Jan. 6th. On that day, HTC (and presumably Verizon) will unveil the next 4G phone in HTC’s portfolio, highly believed to be the HTC Meca/Incredible HD and believed to pack quite a punch hardware wise. While we don’t have hard specs on it yet, it’s basically a cross between an Evo 4G and T-Mobile G2 — except better. Why better? Because it will have LTE.
Hands-on time will be coming soon enough…

Looks like pro-Jailbreakers looking for an iOS 4.2.1 untethered jailbreak will be having a much less “Merry” Christmas after seeing Comex’s latest tweet above. No reason was given as to why the iOS hacker is going to miss his deadline — only that he is. There’s talk of an iPhone Dev-Team “Plan B”, though their method is supposedly not as efficient as Comex’s. And the wait continues…

We’ve already seen the Dell Venue Pro in the U.S. Unfortunately, actually getting one in hand is a tough ordeal at the moment due to numerous manufacturing issues according to Dell. Though Dell has said that Venue Pros should start rolling into customers’ hands within the next week or two.
Across the pond in China, however, a Dell Venue sans keyboard and running Android is coming to market offering quite startling difference. As far as looks go, it is nearly identical to the keyboard-packing Venue Pro. Software-wise however, it doesn’t get much more different than Windows Phone 7 vs. Android.
The two phones are very different yet sorta-kinda the same. What would you choose given the choice: The Windows Phone 7-powered Dell Venue Pro + slide out qwerty keyboard or the Android-packin’ Venue sans keyboard?
