I’m pretty sure everyone has been on an airplane at least once in their lives — and you know when the pilot gets on and interrupts your game/video/song telling us we’ll all die if we don’t turn our electronic devices off??? Well, a certain rebellious teenager chose to take his chances with fate when an older “gentleman” sitting next to him gave him an extra warning. The 68 year old tough guy got so mad he decided it made sense to punch the poor 15 year old.
Now, don’t get me wrong, I’ve met a lot of 15 year old boys I wanted to roundhouse, but never in front of a plane full of witnesses. I mean, really? Was the guy that worried the plane was going to nose dive into the ground he thought beating up a child sounded better? Witnesses said the boy ignored the pilots request, and he was then punished. Authorities were phoned in and were waiting (#blackops style) at the gate for the guy to get off. After hearing statements, and seeing the nasty welt on the poor kids arm, the pieces fit, and the man was taken into custody. He is being charged with misdemeanor battery, and has been booked into county jail.

I have seen countless cases released for the iPad and will be the first to admit they are all pretty douchy. This by far takes the cake though, hands down the most amazing coin purse ever released. Apple would go as far as to say ‘magical!’
You have two options, well, two if you have a Kindle as well as the iPad… A smaller grey and blue case to hold that Kindle E-Reader, and a larger black/red and grey case for that sweet iPad. Either way, you’ll be walking around in old school style. Bust em out at a party, bring them on your first date, ditch your wife on the beach while you chill in your cruise suite looking awesome! It doesn’t matter. All the ladies will be swooning at your awesome 80′s fashion. Or if you are like Hugh Hefner, she’ll have no idea what it is, as she wasn’t alive yet…

Huge day, and huger*** days to come! With the teaser at this years Chaos Communication Congress from the ‘group’ fail0verflow, we have amazing news: The ps3 is hackable without that pesky USB dongle. The group — most of the HackMii group that work on the Wii(and DS) have been diligently spending countless hours fondling the newest Playstation member — and the fruits of their labor are paying off.
The group gave us a shot (if you were paying attention to the streams from the stage) of AsbestOS.PUP. If you aren’t familiar with what this means, the ps3 can be completely updated to a custom firmware, kinda like what the pwnage tool does for iOS. AsbestOS was created by marcan, and which is a Linux loader for the ps3. From what it looks like, it will load the homebrew applications and the ps3 will think it is an official Sony Signature. Once these keys are released, anyone out there will be able to mod their FW and play any game around, no more staying at an older firmware and losing out on some newer games just to have a hacked system.

The world’s first Honeycomb Android tablet now has a name: XOOM. Designed and developed by Motorola, this next-gen tablet is rumored to feature an Nvidia Tegra 2 dual-core processor, front and rear facing cameras, and super thin design. It was shown off by Google’s own Andy Rubin in the recent past, and is easily the best looking Android tablet thus far. Unfortunately, early rumors that it would also feature LTE don’t appear to be true. But even then, the design and added tablet features of Honeycomb should be more than enough to keep us busy. On that note, if a USB port happens to sneak into the design we can always attach a 4G modem of our choosing — a better idea than a built-in radio that you can’t change in our opinion.
Is the lack of built-in 4G a deal breaker?

Or something like that… But yes, as every year, TorrentFreak saves us the time and energy of having to scroll through p2p site after p2p site counting download numbers. With 2010 coming to a close here in a few days, we have a lazy glimpse into the most pirated game of the fabulous year: Call of Duty: Black Cops. Of course, I mean, other than Halo:Reach, Bad Company 2 and Fall Out, were there any big hitters this year?
While only being available (retail that is) since the 9th of November, Black Ops has mustered up a whopping 4,270,000 downloads in total. This number should be a lot higher if you had access to all the leet ftp sites out there, instead of just the p2p trackers. Still, this number is extremely impressive. Last year’s winner was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. So at least we know Call of Duty gets almost as many internet grabs as it does purchases. Most of these downloads are from the PC counterpart, which means both the Wii and 360 version weren’t topped out by Black Cops. Super Mario Galaxy 2 tops the Wii charts, and Dante’s Inferno grab the 360 slot.
So whether you snatched a copy from your local retailer or googled your way into “illegal” file sharing, hats off to making Black Cops the most popular game of 2010 — both purchased and pirated. I know I had a hand in one of those. Let’s just say I lost 60 bucks, but trust me, money worth spending.

There’s nothing like an official unofficial slip of information pertaining to the things we cherish most — gadgets. The image above contains two casting calls for some “hip” folks with good looking hands to show off Palm’s latest and greatest devices. One adventurous PreCentral reader actually sent in his resume for one of the positions and was able to glean a few unannounced names of the devices that were to be modeled: “Broadway”, “Manta”, and “Topaz”. Currently, the Broadway is rumored to be the Pixi 2. Meanwhile, the Topaz is supposedly code talk for “PalmPad” while the Manta is 100% new. It’s been a long time since we saw an original, new smartphone bringing webOS to the table, so the Manta has my attention.
Seeing as how Palm is scheduled to unveil several webOS devices at CES, these three devices won’t be “mysterious” for too much longer. Expect more information to follow next week when we’ll likely see all three of these (and possibly more) webOS devices unveiled at CES.

Leaks and news pertaining to the iPad 2 are coming fairly frequently as of late, with the latest leak giving us a pretty good idea of what the final product will look like. 9to5Mac scored a couple of case mold drawings (legitimacy unconfirmed) that show some pretty iPod Touch-esque design features — namely the tapered edges. However, several other changes such as the redesigned speaker system, rumored SD card slot, and smaller camera make an appearance.
While Apple hasn’t officially said anything about the iPad 2 features or release date, it’s heavily expected to be announced in early 2011 with a release following not too long after.
