With every new generation of Apple hardware, a flood of ensuing accessories is often not far behind. With the iPad 2 set to go on sale to the masses tomorrow, accessory makers aren’t wasting time. Popular Apple hardware accessory manufacturer, XtremeMac, has a slew of new gear to clothe your new tablet baby. A few of the products include the Tuffwrap Shine (form fitting case), Microshield (ultra-thin hard plastic case), XtremeMac Thin Sleeve (full coverage case that fits iPad 1 and 2), and XtremeMac Tuffshield (tough screen protector). Various color options will be available at launch. Speaking of which, look for the new XtremeMac iPad 2 gear to hit retail shelves and online outlets starting tomorrow, March 11th. The Android onslaught continues with these new pictures captured by TechnoBuffalo of the Samsung Stealth. Besides a unique design (that looks sort of like a fighter jet to us), a 4.3-inch AMOLED display, 1GHz Hummingbird processor, Android 2.2, 8-megapixel camera (rear)/1.3-megapixel camera (front), and 720p video recording support round up a decent mid to high-end range Android device. It’s worth noting that besides the “Samsung Stealth”, “Droid Charge” has been mentioned in conjunction with the same hardware as well — for what it’s worth.
The last remaining question is how will that LTE affect battery life. According to TechnoBuffalo’s early hands on, the Stealth handles such things like a champ. Though we’ll leave final judgement in the back room until we have a go at this little wonder ourselves. A couple more pictures from CES (Unwired) after the jump.

iOS 4.3 is out for all iOS devices. You’ll need iTunes 10.2.1 (Windows & Mac) and a compatible device to get the latest in iOS goods.

Web fiends and internet junkies might want to mark down March 14th (specifically 9pm PST) on their calendars — this is the day in which Microsoft will officially launch their most current Internet Explorer 9 after months of public beta testing. Should you the consumer really leave Firefox 4, Chrome 10, Opera 11, and/or Safari 5 browsers for IE9? After many weeks of IE9 testing in the GS labs, we’d say no. IE9 is great and all, but the latest versions of Firefox 4 and Chrome 10 are better.
Anyone looking forward to IE9?
WebOS hasn’t really taken off in popularity as some other mobile alternatives have to date. But as we see it, that’s mainly because of a lack of exciting hardware or worthwhile hardware updates thus far. Now that Leo Apotheker is at the helm, however, things are quickly turning around. Take for example a claim made by Apotheker today, stating that every HP PC will be able to run the webOS experience by next year. This is but one bold claim made by a man who’s already far surpassed his rather useless predecessor, Mark Hurd, in a mere fraction of the time.
HP has a media event set for March 14th in which we’ll learn a good deal more about HP’s upcoming plans. Check back soon…

What you’re looking at are the claimed “first” images of Windows 8. While the UI looks just like the current Windows 7, Win7China reported that there is in fact a much more noticeable design refresh that hasn’t made its way out yet. Besides UI changes, the user icon is said to be tied to a Windows Live account and allow signing into your account across multiple devices and platforms including multiple Windows PCs, Windows Phone 7 devices, Xbox consoles, and more. The image inside also shows new video-based icons. Anyone looking forward to a new UI for Win8?

RIM has been getting a lot of flack lately for pushing out hardware that seems 1-2 generations behind the competition, and an OS that seems even further lost in the past. But hopefully OS 7.0 will change that. News of upcoming OS versions and more reside on a freshly leaked RIM roadmap that N4BB managed to snag. While there are a few other interesting things found on the roadmap, the most important and intriguing is of course OS 7.0. What is unknown at this point is if 7.0 will simply be another layer of lipstick on an aging pig, or if 7.0 will be the first smartphone OS to debut the QNX goods RIM acquired many, many months back. We’re desperately hoping for the latter as a 4-way fight between QNX, iOS, Android, and WebOS would be might exciting to watch. Here’s to hope…
