We here at Gadgetsteria love infographs. Visual representation and nerdy details thrown together make our pulses jump and eyes widen. The only thing better than finding infographs is sharing them with others. This spiffy one before you details the rise of iPhone photography. While the earliest iPhone cameras weren’t much to write home about, the latest hardware along with several versatile 3rd party attachments are quickly eating into entry and mid-level DSLR territory. It’s an interesting battle for sure. Hop inside and check out the full 590 x 2482 infograph in all its glory…
iPad #2 has some competition nipping at its ankles. The freshly announced Samsung Galaxy Tab now has an 8.9″ and 10.1″ versions to compliment the first-gen 7″ sibling that was released late in 2010. But not only do the new Galaxy Tabs have bigger screens, they have more powerful hardware too all while slimming down even further. Speaking of power, the new Tabs feature dual-core processors running at 1GHz (Nvidia Tegra 2 — unconfirmed) as well as Touchwiz 4.0. Touchwiz 4.0 by the way is much less intrusive (or ugly) than it’s predecessor. In fact to our eyes, it looks not all that different from stock Honeycomb, save for some Samsung-added animations and subtle UI changes here and there, specifically the mail app. Either way, the new Galaxy Tabs should definitely give the Motorola XOOM a run for its money.
Availability is “this summer”. In the meantime, check out the pricing:
Hop on past the break for a video walk through of Touchwiz 4.0 compliments of Slashgear.
Like flashy lights and realtime statistics? Point your browser over to http://glow.mozilla.com/ and prepare to be amazed. At said link, a nifty page with a realtime stat counter and blips popping up on screen show the number of downloads and location of said downloads as they happen. Pretty nifty if you ask us. Bonus — roll over the bars at the bottom of the screen and you can see download counts by the minute.
If this doesn’t tap the definition of nerd, I don’t know what does…
The next iteration of Mozilla’s Firefox browser is officially available. Firefox 4 is now live! Originally scheduled for release at the end of 2010, new features, bugs, and ultimately missed deadlines took their toll.
We’ve been using the various FF 4 betas and previous RC. The general consensus is that it is indeed a lot faster than previous 3.x variants as well as looking much better to boot. And of course, adding in new features such as hardware acceleration, built-in syncing, and a increased HTML5/CSS 3, and other native web formats is always a plus.
Will Firefox 4 top Chrome 10 and IE 9 (among others)? Why don’t you find out…?
XPAL Power is riding the smartphone wave today in announcing the PowerSkin line of battery infused cases. The 1500mAh cases (iPhone 4 features 2000mAh battery) cover some of the most popular smartphones on the market — HTC Evo | HTC HD7 | HTC myTouch 4G | Motorola Droid X | Samsung Galaxy S 4G, Vibrant, i9000 and i9003 | iPhone 4 (AT&T and Verizon). The design looks sleek and unobtrusive and is aided by the soft touch silicone that wraps around the cases. Features include the ability to charge the case (and phone) while the phone is inserted as well as syncing to your computer. A set of indicator LEDs along the back side of the case (bottom of iPhone 4 case) gives users a visual representation of remaining battery life.
Availability is still listed s “coming soon” with price equally as mysterious. Such things should be cleared up in the coming days, however, so check back soon.
In the meantime, check out PowerSkin’s website for more info and images.
