Despite an ever changing landscape, there are a few phones/tablets that look like they’ll weather the test of time — relatively that is. With that said, when HTC announced the Flyer, we were all left scratching our heads as to why anything less than Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) was chosen. Regardless of bugs, difficulty in development, or other outside influences, future Flyer owners can rest assured HTC has you covered.
The company confirmed today that soon after launch, Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) will be pushed out as an update. To recap, the Flyer will ship with a 7-inch 1024 x 600 display, 1.5GHz single-core processor, 1 GB of RAM, 16/32GB of internal storage, 5-megapixel rear/1.3-megapixel front-facing cameras w/ 720p video recording, and a slew of wireless technologies.
If you ask us, HTC appears to have a winner on their hands.

The Dell Streak 5″ tablet/gigantor phone will soon have some larger siblings to play around with. A freshly leaked roadmap via Android Central shows three new tablets — two Windows 7 tablets and one Android offering.
The Android tablet will go by the name “Dell Streak Pro” and carry a 10″ 1200 x 800 display powered by an Nvidia Tegra T25 processor. Currently, the Streak Pro will be WiFi-only. Dell will reportedly overlay their Stage 1.5 UI on top of Android and provide various corporate oriented apps and features.
The two Windows 7 tablets — Latitude ST and Latitude XT-3 — will come in both tablet (former) and convertible tablet/laptop (latter) form factors. The tablet-esque ST will run an Intel Atom Z6xx Oak Trail platform with processors ~1.5GHz, 2GB of RAM and 128GB of SSD storage. The more traditional XT-3 will feature normal-voltage Sandy Bridge processors, 4GB of RAM, as well as stylus input support.
Pricing and release information for the trio of tablets is not known at the time of writing, though past rumors said June-Fall. Also not known — why Dell is continuing with Windows 7-based tablets when the market has clearly shown thus far that desktop tablets do not sell. Common sense would have Dell focusing exclusive on Android tablets. Nevertheless, we’ll keep you posted…

The next generation iPhone is both a big revamp or border-line yawner depending on what day you decide to read next-gen iPhone news. But one thing is for certain — lots of people want to know about it.
Fellow tech site M.I.C. Gadget claims to have a couple of photos showing the next-gen iPhone’s slightly larger display. They note that the legitimacy of the photos is iffy. We’ll agree that they just don’t look real. But at this stage in the game we’re willing to go out on a limb and at least hope these are real.
Another shot comparing the so called iPhone 4S to the current iPhone 4 after the jump…

A newer build of Windows 8 has leaked! Unlike an earlier leak we saw several weeks back, this latest version is rather update to date as it includes a lot of the new features and design tweaks (explorer ribbon bar, built-in PDF reader, revamped task manager, and more) exclusive to Microsoft’s next-gen desktop OS.
Windows 8 Center has confirmed this build is legitimate. Look for the torrent to hit your local source site in 3..2..1…

The upcoming HTC Doubleshot has Android fans in a dizzying stupor in no small part to the rumored specs — 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon processor, WVGA display, slide-out QWERTY keyboard, 6-megapixel camera, and many other goodies.
Today that phone becomes a bit more official as indicated by the user agent file seen above. While the FCC has yet to publish their own hands-on treatment, the here-and-gone original release date of March 2011 signals that something has to be coming relatively soon.
Look for this Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) behemoth to hit T-Mobile withint he next couple of months on T-Mobile USA.

9to5Mac reader Alex W found a possible glitch/new development regarding the iTunes Store and G3 support — or that is, the lack thereof. When said reader tried visiting the iTunes Store on his G3 running iTunes 8.2.1 recently, he found the image plastered above encouraging him to upgrade to iTunes 10. Of course, running the old hardware he doesn’t have a choice.
We’re all for preserving the lives of computers in general, but at 10 years out you’ve got to say goodbye at some point, dude. Nevertheless, it’s still unconfirmed if this is a deliberate move by Apple or a user error of some sort. We’ve sent an email out to Apple and will update you accordingly…

With many consumers here in the U.S. facing $4+ for every gallon of gas they endlessly pour into their autos, it’s reassuring to know that there are other forms of fuel available. Take for example the above car powered by $24 Makers Mark Bourbon.
The Nissan Nilsson as it’s being called took the builder, Mickey Nilsson, six months from start to finish. His efforts aren’t going unappreciated, however. Nissan caught wind of Mickey’s little project and decided to include it in a recent concept car show. Even more inspiring is that a form of the “Nissan Nilsson” is slated for production in 2014. At this time, no word on which bourbon Nissan will settle with.
