Motorola XOOM owners waiting impatiently for their own custom ROMs can finally breathe a sigh of relief/excitement. A new, lightly modified XOOM ROM called “Tiamat Xoom Rom 1.0″ has popped up over at XDA with some rather nifty tweaks in tow:
- Tiamat 1.4.4 stock GPU, Root access with SU and superuser, Desktop UA string , Gingerbread style CRT Screen Off Animation, Call setting with SIP and SMS capabilities enabled, Supercircle 100 point battery mod, modified version of Flash player (to work with Hulu), Wifi Ad-Hoc mod enabled, and USB Mass Storage Enabled
The best part about this ROM is that it is based off the stock VZW image meaning compatibility and stability should be top notch. Coupled with a de-odexed system means we should see some rather nice speed gains to boot. On that note, any XOOM should be able to flash the new ROM without hassle, though WiFi-only units may need a full wipe. Though a full wipe between any new ROM install should be a mandatory act.
