iOS Jailbreaker Geohot Now Working At Facebook.

  • June 25, 2011 10:19 pm

Since the whole thing with Sony, Geohot has remained pretty low. In fact, we have heard anything from the once prolific hacker for several weeks. But that changed in mid-May when he began working for Facebook. Yes — Facebook.

While Geohot started at Facebook in May, he only announced it this past Wednesday, June 17th (which interestingly enough doesn’t feature a “Friend” button anywhere on the page). With that said, it’s not exactly clear what he’s doing there. The “coming out” post on his Facebook profile page simple says:

is Facebook is really an amazing place to work…first hackathon over.

Cyber security perhaps? If only Sony would have hired him (or other hackers) instead of suing them…

50 Days and 50 Nights On the Lulz Boat – Noah Would Be Proud!!

  • June 25, 2011 7:30 pm

Well, LulzSec just released a statement – their final statement. For the past 50 days, LulzSec has been making a mockery and lullerskating all over the interweb security – among the fallen are; PBS, FBI Affiliates, Facebook, Twitter and PayPal. We’ve been tailing the Boat for a while now here at the GS headquarters, and I must say, I’ve been rofling since the very beginning.

I have always enjoyed the hacking scene. Busting through security with simple injections has always got me going. Whether it be hacking into websites, or simply backwards programing to crack software/games. For the past while The Lulz Boat has been heading full steam at your interwebs and terrorizing everyone in it’s wake. With their latest canons being fired at the Arizona Police Department in a campaign named ‘Chinga La Migra(Fuck the Border Patrol) it seemed the internets were forever doomed.

But that all changes tonight as LulzSec has announced their retirement…

Conan Takes An Apple Sized Dump All Over Final Cut Pro X

  • June 25, 2011 2:12 am

With the recent release of Final Cut Pro X from Apple in the past few days, we’ve seen nothing but trolls shite talking Apples massively popular video/film editing software. I have personally used the software, and I will agree that it is crazily downgraded. My wife is a big iMovie fan, and with using both that and older version of Final Cut Pro I know what sets the two items apart. With this release we have an iMovie on steroids(dismal amounts of steroids) or a stupid version of Final Cut Pro. As one of the GS headquarters biggest Apple Fanboys – I’m kind of at a loss and can’t really back the Cupertino giant up. It’s upsetting that Apple cut out so many popular and necessary items from the release, and many are letting ‘em have it!

One in particular is a clip that was featured on a recent episode of the Conan O’Brien Show. The crew at the Conan show piece together a video – of course using Final Cut Pro X – to demonstrate the awesomeness that is Final Cut Pro X. What we are left with is a humorously incredible – magical – clip highlighting some of the great features the latest version will give us.

It has been reported in the last few hours that Apple is actually refunding some users that are unsatisfied with their experience with the editing software. Even though Apple states that ‘all sales are final’ they seem to be ponying up the cash to treat their customers right. What do you think? Should Apple refund? Should they offer a trial period so users can get a feel of the experience before a purchase? Will this create a bunch of douchebags asking for refunds because they don’t like the way iPhoto fattens their asses?

Either way, hop on in to check out the clip – if you were too old to stay up the other night!!!

Motorola Confirms DROID Bionic Summer Schedule Still On Track.

  • June 25, 2011 12:00 am

The DROID Bionic was slated to be the Android super phone of the Spring season. Delays and an eventually acknowledged hardware redesign changed plans, however. Now, we’ve been left wondering exactly when Motorola and Verizon would release their updated DROID Bionic. We’ve heard a few vague comments and time frames so far, but nothing concrete — until today.

When questioned by a Twitter follower as to when the DROID Bionic would see the light of day, Motorola responded, saying:

“Hang tight, DROID Bionic is coming and slated for summer release. Our team is working on some new updates.”

Besides the aforementioned physical updates we’re not sure what Verizon is talking about. Then again, it doesn’t really matter as long as Verizon can hit their new summer time frame.

Anyone still holding out for the Bionic?

Rumor: LG Eyeing Laptop Relaunch.

  • June 24, 2011 3:49 pm

Fancy an LG-made laptop but disappointed the jack of all trades manufacturer hasn’t made anything in said sector in recent years? If current rumors are to be believed, your wallowing in self pity will soon be over. Unfortunately we don’t yet have many specifics such as release time frame or planned products. But at least knowing is a start, right?

Is the tablet movement too strong or do you think LG has a legitimate chance?

Sprint Roadmap Leaked: BlackBerry Bold Touch, Epic 2 Galaxy S II And More.

  • June 24, 2011 3:38 pm

Wireless users planning to play musical carriers in the second half of this year may want to hold off a bit longer. A newly leaked roadmap spells out some notable hardware including the Epic 4G 2, Galaxy S II (Galaxy Within), BlackBerry Bold Touch and more.

The Epic 4G 2 will be a rather minor refresh as it will keep the same 4″ display while gaining a higher-end 8-megapixel camera and faster 1.2 GHz Hummingbird processor. The Galaxy Within/Galaxy S II isn’t specifically named as Sprint instead uses “Full touch 4G device” verbiage. Though current rumors say the deal is all but confirmed. Finally, The BlackBerry Bold Touch (9900) and BlackBerry 9860 (variant of 9900) are the hallowed King Berries of RIM’s range that feature both the iconic physical qwerty keyboard and touch screen.

A few other notable mentions include some lower-end Kyocera / Sanyo handsets for PTT lovers. What’s interesting is that these new PTT phones will begin using said feature by way of Sprint’s CDMA network and not the old iDen standard. Speaking of which, there’s also mentions of a new PTT BlackBerry in the works as well. Considering the lastest PTT BlackBerry is based on the several year old BlackBerry 8300 Curve, change couldn’t come soon enough.

See anything worth waiting for?
