With all of the stories revolving around the newly released JailbreakMe 3.0 via @comex, we can’t help but post another one. This is somewhat of a negative one though – another bug. We didn’t post about the last one, but there was an issue with the iPad Camera Connection Kit. It seems we have a bigger issue now – BiteSMS and the latest userland exploit are causing your iDevice to spiral into an continuous reboot loop which can only be fixed by a restore.
A member on the BiteSMS forums posted the issue only to be verified by many other users. I can’t verify myself, as I didn’t jailbreak with the latest internet tool, and I don’t use BiteSMS. So if any users out there can verify the bug, please do. It seems the crash only occurs when sending a message with the quick reply feature.
We will probably see an update from BiteSMS to fix the issue. We don’t know if this came from the lack of time Comex had ironing out all the kinks and issues due to the leak of his software after it was located on his servers, or if there is just an issue with the code.
It seems the only fix as of right now, after the restore of course – is to re-jailbreak using redsn0w and then use BiteSMS, or jailbreak with www.jailbreakme.com and don’t use BiteSMS – lulz.
